She said that FMTC has also directed its depots and purchase centers to purchase lentils and cereals in small quantity along with paddy. </p>
<p>Though the company had set a target of collecting 60,000 tons of paddy in the last fiscal year, it was able to purchase only 27,700 tons. The company is likely to miss its target of purchasing 30,000 tons of paddy in the current fiscal year. FMTC officials say that it has been challenging to purchase paddy in huge quantity due to standards set to purchase the crop and store it for a long time. <br />
They say that the quality of paddy has deteriorated due to unseasonal rains in October last year. </p>
