December 12: Temperature has dropped in the Kathmandu Valley in recent days. The minimum temperature of the Valley was recorded at 5 degrees Celsius on Sunday, the coldest this year.
The temperature was 5.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 6.5 degrees on Friday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Due to a drop in temperature, people are experiencing extreme cold throughout the country.
The Department has urged one and all to keep warm and safe from cold as mercury continues to dip.
Snowfall is predicted in some high areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Gandaki Provinces later this week due to the mixture of westerly wind and westerly low pressure system, the Department said.

According to the latest updates provided by the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the maximum temperature of the Valley was 19.8 degrees Celsius today (December 12). Similarly, Jumla reported the lowest minus 4.5 degrees Celsius while Bhairahawa recorded the highest 28.4 degrees Celsius. -- RSS
