December 11: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has requested South Korea to increase investment in education, health, tourism, and infrastructure sectors of Nepal. Thanking South Korea for its current assistance in the field of education, health and infrastructure development through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Poudel during a bilateral meeting with South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Yong-sik urged for more investment.

Stating that mutual cooperation between Nepal and South Korea is increasing in the area of trade, investment and employment, Finance Minister Poudel said that Nepalis have been going to South Korea for employment through EPS (Employment Permit System) and the country has benefited by using the skills learned there in Nepal. He also thanked the South Korean government for its support and cooperation in Nepal's efforts against Covid-19.

He further said that the Ministry of Finance supports the projects being implemented in Nepal with the support of the South Korean government.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yong-sik briefed about the assistance provided by the South Korean government to Nepal in various fields and said that the assistance would be extended in the field of technical and vocational education. He said they would coordinate to increase investment from South Korea’s private sector. Likewise, he also said that the South Korean government would actively contribute to the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19.
