May 29: The Nepal-China border in Tatopani, which was closed after the devastating earthquake of 2015, has reopened on Wednesday. According to Krishna Basnet, head of the Tatopani Customs Office, the newly reconstructed customs point was jointly inaugurated by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav and vice minister of China’s customs department.
Basnet informed that four trucks with goods returned through the border as the transportation of goods resumed at the vital trade route of Nepal. He further said that the full-fledged operation of the road will take some more time though.
“The customs point will be operated regularly soon after technical works are completed,” he said.
The Chinese government has constructed a dry port at the border. Works including furnishing and internet connection at the dry port is yet to be done. The friendship bridge has been upgraded

May 29: The Nepal-China border in Tatopani, which was closed after the devastating earthquake of 2015, has reopened on Wednesday. According to Krishna Basnet, head of the Tatopani Customs Office, the newly reconstructed customs point was jointly inaugurated by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav and vice minister of China’s customs department.</p>
<p>
Basnet informed that four trucks with goods returned through the border as the transportation of goods resumed at the vital trade route of Nepal. He further said that the full-fledged operation of the road will take some more time though.</p>
<p>
“The customs point will be operated regularly soon after technical works are completed,” he said.</p>
<p>
The Chinese government has constructed a dry port at the border. Works including furnishing and internet connection at the dry port is yet to be done. The friendship bridge has been upgraded</p>
