May 23: Himalayan Bank has extended its network with the opening of its latest branch at Station Road of Janakpurdham. Chief Minisger of Province 2 Lal Babu Raut inaugurated the branch amid a function on May 22, according to the bank.
Himalayan Bank said in a statement that it has a total of 58 branches with the inauguration of the new branch in Janakpur.
Addressing the function, Chief Minister Raut expressed his belief that the branch will facilitate the residents in expanding their businesses in the productive sector by meeting their financial needs apart from providing modern banking facilities.
Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, chairman of Himalayan Bank Limited, shed light on the current financial position of the bank. According to him, deposit base of the bank has reached Rs 112.27 billion and loan portfolio is over Rs 98.53 billion. The bank has been able to generate operating profit of Rs 2.87 billion by the end of the third quarter of current fiscal year.
