March 5: A total of 56 percent of the country’s population is connected with broadband internet, according to the latest report of Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA). The report shows that a total of 16.5 million population is connected with internet, mainly due to the internet service provided by Nepal Telecom, Ncell, and Smart Telecom.</p>
<p>
Of the total population connected with internet, 38.98 percent is connected to the platform via mobile network. Likewise, 11.49 percent population is connected via fixed broadband, while 1.26 percent populations are connected via fixed broadband wireless network.</p>
<p>
According to the report, the number of consumers using fixed broadband internet of Nepal Telecom and other companies stands at 3.33 million. Likewise, the number of population connected to the internet via fixed broadband wireless internet stands at 280,000.</p>
