<p>A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the promoter company and the lead investor bank on June 4. Gobinda Gurung, CEO of Civil Bank and Umesh Shrestha of Bungal Hydro signed the MoU.</p>

<p>Apart from Civil Bank, Nepal Investment Bank, Prabhu Bank and Laxmi Bank will be investing in the project. The four BFIs will invest 75 per cent i.e. Rs 1.36 billion of Rs 1.81 billion total expected investment of the project.</p>

<p>The project targets to generate electricity by September 15, 2019 and connect the electricity to Chamelia by constructing its own transmission line.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NAC will obtain Rs 12 billion in loans from each fund in which the government will be the guarantor.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Both the institutions will provide Rs four billion each to the corporation in the first phase and the interest rate will be 9 percent.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The agreement is delayed due to the delay in submission of documents regarding the purchase of Airbus asked by the loan providing institutions.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ram Krishna Pokhrel, Executive Director of CIT informed that though the decision was made earlier to provide the loan amounting to Rs 12 billion to the corporation, the delay in submission of documents has holdup the agreement. &ldquo;As soon as we are provided with the documents, the loan agreement will be signed,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Rabindra Shrestha, Spokesperson of NAC said that the understanding for loan taking has been already reached, and the loan agreement will be signed as soon as the loan providing organizations call them.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We have already completed the task of our side and the loan providing organizations might be preparing for the task of their side,&rdquo; he further said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC has entered into agreement to buy two Airbus aircrafts with an US leasing company AAR Corporation, two years ago. The corporation is buying two 330-200 series wide-body airbuses for Rs 22.63 billion, and the NAC has already sent USD one million as advanced payment.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With the loan agreement, the corporation will send first installment of its payment to AAR Corporation of USA, and it will provide the airbus within 14 months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NAC is making international flights with two narrow-body Airbuses and a Boeing. The corporation is planning to operate flights to South Korea, Japan, Australia and London with these aircrafts.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC is expecting that after buying the two Airbuses, the company will regain its lost goodwill and market in the international sectors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the concept of the Ministry, the fund will include the investment from government, non-resident Nepalis, foreign investors and the general public. The total responsibility of the fund will be handed over to the private sector with one representative from the government sector.&nbsp; The government will work as a facilitator.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The money in the fund will be invested in various profitable projects. According to Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi, the fund will be invested in many industries and infrastructure projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;We are taking the proposal to the meeting of the Council of Ministers on May 2 for agreement in principle. Through the fund, we want to develop the national economy through public participation,&quot; said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The fund will remain as a public company and has a target to collect Rs 100 billion from NRNs, Rs 100 billion from private sector, Rs 100 billon from foreign investors and Rs 100-200 billion from the public.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government will also have a certain percent of shares in the fund. The fund will encourage utilising the remittances for productive purposes. The fund will raise amounts as per the projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the amount in the fund is not just for the purpose of collection, but to utilise it in the form of capital for investing in various projects.&nbsp; &quot;We will select the projects for investment before raising the funds and on the basis of it, the Fund will manage the needed amount,&quot; informed Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The fund can be mobilised to operate the governmental and private industries which have been closed due to lack of investment. The fund will play an important role in developing the industrial sector and provide job opportunities in those sectors,&quot;said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The ministry is preparing internally to create directive committee under the coordination of Industry Minister and Work Performance Committee under the coordination of industry secretary after the agreement in principle from the meeting of the Council of Ministers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the works for establishing the fund has been moved forward with the agreement from the umbrella organisations of the private sector.</p>

<p>Apart from Civil Bank, Nepal Investment Bank, Prabhu Bank and Laxmi Bank will be investing in the project. The four BFIs will invest 75 per cent i.e. Rs 1.36 billion of Rs 1.81 billion total expected investment of the project.</p>

<p>The project targets to generate electricity by September 15, 2019 and connect the electricity to Chamelia by constructing its own transmission line.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Both the institutions will provide Rs four billion each to the corporation in the first phase and the interest rate will be 9 percent.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The agreement is delayed due to the delay in submission of documents regarding the purchase of Airbus asked by the loan providing institutions.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ram Krishna Pokhrel, Executive Director of CIT informed that though the decision was made earlier to provide the loan amounting to Rs 12 billion to the corporation, the delay in submission of documents has holdup the agreement. &ldquo;As soon as we are provided with the documents, the loan agreement will be signed,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Rabindra Shrestha, Spokesperson of NAC said that the understanding for loan taking has been already reached, and the loan agreement will be signed as soon as the loan providing organizations call them.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We have already completed the task of our side and the loan providing organizations might be preparing for the task of their side,&rdquo; he further said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC has entered into agreement to buy two Airbus aircrafts with an US leasing company AAR Corporation, two years ago. The corporation is buying two 330-200 series wide-body airbuses for Rs 22.63 billion, and the NAC has already sent USD one million as advanced payment.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With the loan agreement, the corporation will send first installment of its payment to AAR Corporation of USA, and it will provide the airbus within 14 months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NAC is making international flights with two narrow-body Airbuses and a Boeing. The corporation is planning to operate flights to South Korea, Japan, Australia and London with these aircrafts.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC is expecting that after buying the two Airbuses, the company will regain its lost goodwill and market in the international sectors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the concept of the Ministry, the fund will include the investment from government, non-resident Nepalis, foreign investors and the general public. The total responsibility of the fund will be handed over to the private sector with one representative from the government sector.&nbsp; The government will work as a facilitator.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The money in the fund will be invested in various profitable projects. According to Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi, the fund will be invested in many industries and infrastructure projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;We are taking the proposal to the meeting of the Council of Ministers on May 2 for agreement in principle. Through the fund, we want to develop the national economy through public participation,&quot; said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The fund will remain as a public company and has a target to collect Rs 100 billion from NRNs, Rs 100 billion from private sector, Rs 100 billon from foreign investors and Rs 100-200 billion from the public.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government will also have a certain percent of shares in the fund. The fund will encourage utilising the remittances for productive purposes. The fund will raise amounts as per the projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the amount in the fund is not just for the purpose of collection, but to utilise it in the form of capital for investing in various projects.&nbsp; &quot;We will select the projects for investment before raising the funds and on the basis of it, the Fund will manage the needed amount,&quot; informed Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The fund can be mobilised to operate the governmental and private industries which have been closed due to lack of investment. The fund will play an important role in developing the industrial sector and provide job opportunities in those sectors,&quot;said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The ministry is preparing internally to create directive committee under the coordination of Industry Minister and Work Performance Committee under the coordination of industry secretary after the agreement in principle from the meeting of the Council of Ministers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the works for establishing the fund has been moved forward with the agreement from the umbrella organisations of the private sector.</p>

Moreover, the LTPO mentioned that the company is now fully cleared in relation to the Transaction which attracted capital gains tax under the Income Tax Act, 2058 (2002).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;To date, Ncell remains one largest tax payer in Nepal with over Rs 160 billion paid over the last 13 years (FY 2004/2005 to June 1, 2017). It will be managed and controlled through a definite regulations and provisions. The draft bill which was formulated to amend the Act was lingering in the Ministry of Industries for a long time. <p>Apart from Civil Bank, Nepal Investment Bank, Prabhu Bank and Laxmi Bank will be investing in the project. The four BFIs will invest 75 per cent i.e. Rs 1.36 billion of Rs 1.81 billion total expected investment of the project.</p>

<p>The project targets to generate electricity by September 15, 2019 and connect the electricity to Chamelia by constructing its own transmission line.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The agreement is delayed due to the delay in submission of documents regarding the purchase of Airbus asked by the loan providing institutions.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ram Krishna Pokhrel, Executive Director of CIT informed that though the decision was made earlier to provide the loan amounting to Rs 12 billion to the corporation, the delay in submission of documents has holdup the agreement. &ldquo;As soon as we are provided with the documents, the loan agreement will be signed,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Rabindra Shrestha, Spokesperson of NAC said that the understanding for loan taking has been already reached, and the loan agreement will be signed as soon as the loan providing organizations call them.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We have already completed the task of our side and the loan providing organizations might be preparing for the task of their side,&rdquo; he further said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC has entered into agreement to buy two Airbus aircrafts with an US leasing company AAR Corporation, two years ago. The corporation is buying two 330-200 series wide-body airbuses for Rs 22.63 billion, and the NAC has already sent USD one million as advanced payment.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With the loan agreement, the corporation will send first installment of its payment to AAR Corporation of USA, and it will provide the airbus within 14 months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NAC is making international flights with two narrow-body Airbuses and a Boeing. The corporation is planning to operate flights to South Korea, Japan, Australia and London with these aircrafts.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC is expecting that after buying the two Airbuses, the company will regain its lost goodwill and market in the international sectors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the concept of the Ministry, the fund will include the investment from government, non-resident Nepalis, foreign investors and the general public. The total responsibility of the fund will be handed over to the private sector with one representative from the government sector.&nbsp; The government will work as a facilitator.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The money in the fund will be invested in various profitable projects. According to Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi, the fund will be invested in many industries and infrastructure projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;We are taking the proposal to the meeting of the Council of Ministers on May 2 for agreement in principle. Through the fund, we want to develop the national economy through public participation,&quot; said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The fund will remain as a public company and has a target to collect Rs 100 billion from NRNs, Rs 100 billion from private sector, Rs 100 billon from foreign investors and Rs 100-200 billion from the public.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government will also have a certain percent of shares in the fund. The fund will encourage utilising the remittances for productive purposes. The fund will raise amounts as per the projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the amount in the fund is not just for the purpose of collection, but to utilise it in the form of capital for investing in various projects.&nbsp; &quot;We will select the projects for investment before raising the funds and on the basis of it, the Fund will manage the needed amount,&quot; informed Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The fund can be mobilised to operate the governmental and private industries which have been closed due to lack of investment. The fund will play an important role in developing the industrial sector and provide job opportunities in those sectors,&quot;said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The ministry is preparing internally to create directive committee under the coordination of Industry Minister and Work Performance Committee under the coordination of industry secretary after the agreement in principle from the meeting of the Council of Ministers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the works for establishing the fund has been moved forward with the agreement from the umbrella organisations of the private sector.</p>

<p>The project targets to generate electricity by September 15, 2019 and connect the electricity to Chamelia by constructing its own transmission line.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NAC will obtain Rs 12 billion in loans from each fund in which the government will be the guarantor.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Both the institutions will provide Rs four billion each to the corporation in the first phase and the interest rate will be 9 percent.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The agreement is delayed due to the delay in submission of documents regarding the purchase of Airbus asked by the loan providing institutions.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ram Krishna Pokhrel, Executive Director of CIT informed that though the decision was made earlier to provide the loan amounting to Rs 12 billion to the corporation, the delay in submission of documents has holdup the agreement. &ldquo;As soon as we are provided with the documents, the loan agreement will be signed,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">However, Rabindra Shrestha, Spokesperson of NAC said that the understanding for loan taking has been already reached, and the loan agreement will be signed as soon as the loan providing organizations call them.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;We have already completed the task of our side and the loan providing organizations might be preparing for the task of their side,&rdquo; he further said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC has entered into agreement to buy two Airbus aircrafts with an US leasing company AAR Corporation, two years ago. The corporation is buying two 330-200 series wide-body airbuses for Rs 22.63 billion, and the NAC has already sent USD one million as advanced payment.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With the loan agreement, the corporation will send first installment of its payment to AAR Corporation of USA, and it will provide the airbus within 14 months.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, NAC is making international flights with two narrow-body Airbuses and a Boeing. The corporation is planning to operate flights to South Korea, Japan, Australia and London with these aircrafts.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NAC is expecting that after buying the two Airbuses, the company will regain its lost goodwill and market in the international sectors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the concept of the Ministry, the fund will include the investment from government, non-resident Nepalis, foreign investors and the general public. The total responsibility of the fund will be handed over to the private sector with one representative from the government sector.&nbsp; The government will work as a facilitator.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The money in the fund will be invested in various profitable projects. According to Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi, the fund will be invested in many industries and infrastructure projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;We are taking the proposal to the meeting of the Council of Ministers on May 2 for agreement in principle. Through the fund, we want to develop the national economy through public participation,&quot; said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The fund will remain as a public company and has a target to collect Rs 100 billion from NRNs, Rs 100 billion from private sector, Rs 100 billon from foreign investors and Rs 100-200 billion from the public.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government will also have a certain percent of shares in the fund. The fund will encourage utilising the remittances for productive purposes. The fund will raise amounts as per the projects.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the amount in the fund is not just for the purpose of collection, but to utilise it in the form of capital for investing in various projects.&nbsp; &quot;We will select the projects for investment before raising the funds and on the basis of it, the Fund will manage the needed amount,&quot; informed Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The fund can be mobilised to operate the governmental and private industries which have been closed due to lack of investment. The fund will play an important role in developing the industrial sector and provide job opportunities in those sectors,&quot;said Minister Joshi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The ministry is preparing internally to create directive committee under the coordination of Industry Minister and Work Performance Committee under the coordination of industry secretary after the agreement in principle from the meeting of the Council of Ministers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Minister Joshi said that the works for establishing the fund has been moved forward with the agreement from the umbrella organisations of the private sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;To date, Ncell remains one largest tax payer in Nepal with over Rs 160 billion paid over the last 13 years (FY 2004/2005 to June 1, 2017). After the completion of the project, the rate of power will increase by 3 percent per annum for the first eight years, said Director Guragain.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the project, it targets to generate electricity by July 25, 2022. The power generated from the project will be connected to central transmission line through Tarikuna sub-station of NEA.&nbsp;</p>
